About James Salerno
From the Kimberley to the World Stage
James Salerno’s journey begins in the remote yet breathtaking Kimberley region of Western Australia, where he grew up immersed in the rugged beauty of the outback and the timeless traditions of cattle farming. Raised on a Brahman cattle property, James developed a profound appreciation for hard work, self-reliance, and the enduring connection between people and the land.
The son of a hardworking family, James’s upbringing was deeply influenced by the challenges and opportunities of rural life. These early experiences shaped the values that guide him today: resilience, authenticity, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

Entrepreneurial Beginnings
James displayed entrepreneurial flair from a young age. By the age of 16, he had launched his first business in the construction industry, showcasing a natural aptitude for leadership and innovation. His hard work and determination paid off quickly, and by the age of 19, James had earned his first million dollars. Remarkably, he used this success to fund two of his siblings through law school—a testament to his belief in the importance of family and education.

Rosegum Salerno Pastoral
James’s deep connection to agriculture inspired him to return to his roots. Together with his business partner, Professor Richard Drew, he founded Rosegum Salerno Pastoral, a commercial and stud Brahman cattle enterprise based in Beaudesert, Queensland.
Commitment to Quality: The business focuses on breeding resilient, high-quality Brahman cattle, combining traditional methods with cutting-edge genetic advancements.
Sustainability: James champions sustainable farming practices, ensuring that the operation not only thrives today but remains viable for generations to come.
Passion for the Land: Rosegum Salerno Pastoral embodies James’s belief that agriculture is more than an industry—it’s a way of life.
Ringers Western: More Than a Brand
In 2012, James combined his love for the outback lifestyle with his entrepreneurial spirit to create Ringers Western, a clothing brand that has become synonymous with rural Australia. What started as a conversation around a campfire with mates quickly grew into a global success story.

Ringers Western
